OSM is not an official map service, so, your approach is nearly useless. Thanks for the link, really useful one as it equipped my claim that Arabic is a local language. I think you missed to read the following sentence from the wiki page you linked to " Transliteration from Amharic to English is difficult ", this fact makes sure that Arabic is much better than English in indicating places names in Ethiopia as both Arabic and Amharic are Semitic languages and Amharic is affected by Arabic. There is no need to reach the DWG which I think they are working on more important issues.

You have gone so far in an endeavor to prove the your biased opinions against Arabic language. Take a close look at a neighboring country which is Eritrea, it was a part of Ethiopia, has very close characteristics to Ethiopia and most importantly, has multiple names for the same locations. Your comparison does not stand because Arabic language is well-known and familiar in Ethiopia. If you want to compare better, you should mention the Nubian and Coptic languages in Egypt instead of Arabic, although they are not widely used right now, but, they still represent local languages. Do you know that the Coptic calendar is still in use in Egypt?

Arabic is well-known there, so, it represents a local language, therefore, this do not violates OSM rules. The main point of mapping - generally speaking - is to guide people by any means ( using multiple names for the same places if it is useful ).

Oh, really? what about the English names? Is it a local language too? Arabic language is well-known there and many places names have origins from Arabic language, so, I think it is useful to use the Arabic names for these maps.

But, these are no official maps, mate. I think it would be useful to add the Arabic name for this country; because this language is well-known there. Also, do you know that many places names in this country has origins from Arabic language and others was loaned as is?

Hi, " Nubia " it is the translation of the Arabic word " النوبة ",
" Nuba " it is the romanization of the same word, I knew that after some research at Wikipedia.
So, thanks for letting me know that, I will change it to " Nubia " as I prefer translating words than transliterating it.
See this article:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romanization_of_Arabic

I found that some governorates have no region name "محافظة" and others have, so I tried to make them like each other. Many other countries maps have no region name except the name which distinguish each state or region, sometimes this name is identical to the main city in the region and sometimes it is not.
And for the entries, OK, I will turn them to Arabic.

Thanks for clarification.

The way you have drawn is not exist, why did you redraw it again?

92821623

I said what is the point? your drawings make the map messy and difficult to use, and why are you typing descriptions in the names of towns and villages? this does not match with OSM rules whatever your data source is.

92821623

I can't understand the edits you have made here, what is the point of drawing boundaries of villages and towns which is not real? can't you see the satellite imagery?

92367568

What do you mean by boundary?! is this a new state and can be a United Nations member?!!!

91926437

Is this a GPS traces or what?! as far I am knew there is no boundaries among towns and villages of the same state.

91554602

Because the map of the town is already drawn and the map you are nervous about is badly drawn and gives the town false land mass, also, your work don't match the OSM rules, do you need more reasons?

90776997

The road that you have here it's completely different than one under discussion. Anyway, I will stop translating and not editing. We should always review the rules from time to time as it maybe change or we may make mistake at anytime.

90776997

It doesn't matter from where you get your data, what important is that you work don't always match the rules of OpenStreetMap as you are claiming, if this isn't clear to you as a team, let others give a hand in mapping. This is not a governmental service, is it?

90776997

I meant something like this:node/7640508445
Why did you write "مدينة البدارى" instead of "البدارى" ? this is a description should not be in names, also, all the address points have the same error.

90776997

I mean the address points and it's tags that your team have spread them on the maps.

90813453

I said hardly not don't allow, also, the living streets allow traffic. so, what's the problem?
