By the way, the River Trail is mapped as a combined cycle and foot path by bicycle=designated and foot=designated. So because it is combined, highway=path should be used over highway=cycleway, unless you prefer to map the sections where they are actually segregated within MSU as two separate paths, in which case you can map the bicycle portion as highway=cycleway and the foot portion as highway=footway. Until then, please keep the River Trail as highway=path (or start a discussion about this amongst other Michigan mappers).

The page for Michigan on the OSM Wiki states "Most trails and paths in Michigan are multi-use. Often with rules posted specifying foot traffic has the right-of-way. These are NOT cycleways. When in doubt start with highway=path." See here: osm.wiki/Michigan#Paths_/_Trails

Best regards,
Aenet

If possible in the future, can you upload changesets that are located in many far away places separately? It helps when local users are trying to see what changes have been made recently in their area to not have so many large changesets that don't actually affect their area showing up on the map. Thank you.

Why are you referring to the Gwinn Unit as invisible in all your changeset comments?

I might also suggest checking out the server @ https://master.apis.dev.openstreetmap.org for making test edits.

Hmm. Maybe an issue should be made to consider a less saturated or lighter blue for regions where cycling legality is yes in general instead of no so that it doesn’t appear as if all roads and sidewalks are cycle lanes. I should also maybe look at changing those tags I’ve added to sidewalks to something that just refers to the legal description instead of being explicit cycle yes. I’ll have to look around to see what tags would be appropriate for that. Maybe I’ll ask around in the lists.
