Thanks. I hadn't realised this was an effect of my change.

I'm very happy for you to use your local knowledge to change this.

I don't remember where I got the info the most likely would be something like that for Bristol as I would have searched for something I hoped was definitive. I was trying to find surfaced routes to get me through the city as I recall a lot of cycleways missing any surface info (and that then makes Ride with GPS which I use for planning reject the route). My logic for making things foot and cycleway is that's what I see in most parts of OCM and reflects the signing usually with a blue circle showing pedestrians and cycles. When you add cycle and foot path it prompts you to say if segregated or not, so clear if it's shared use or not. see highway=cycleway. This doesn't suggest the use of "pavement". footway=sidewalk (which is the information for Pavement) doesn't make this any clearer other than to say "Generally any walkway running parallel to the road, which provides an alternative method of travel along the road for pedestrians is considered a sidewalk." which is to me not primarily about cycling. I guess both can be used and it may not matter greatly? Happy to be corrected.

Thank you!

I hope I now have set this correctly using GB:nsl_single for the 60mph road sections and sign for the 30 mph section. Is that correct?

Apologies. I did not know this was required. When I edit I see a speed limit box and assumed adding the number here was enough. The max speed tags just seem to repeat that information so what difference does it make? Why are they needed? Thanks

You can see the NCN2 signs here clearly showing that the cycle route is off road and going around the roundabout on the shared use footway to the south and then west. https://www.bing.com/maps/?cp=50.708338%7E-2.422797&lvl=17.9&pi=-17.5&style=x&dir=87.6

Thank you. It's a shame there's no safe cycle path to the east to join up with the backstreets route to the Woolwich Ferry.

Apolgoies, I cearly got that wrong. I think you are right I misremembered. Thank you for changing it back. Do you know if the footway on the north side of Connaught Rd from the zebra east to the next crossing is shared use as signs suggest it might be and that would be logical in connecting up with the older cycle path past the hotel?

157918485 about 1 year ago

It was pouring with rain when we came past so I was concentrating on cycling, so didn't see a Zebra, but the crossing was a new toucan as we used it to get on to the cycle path on the north side of the road. I simply updated the crossing to traffic light controlled and missed the bit about foot being no. I'll check the info again. Thanks.

Please explain. I'm not sure what this means. When I update the speed, the only other option is mph or kph. Is that what this means? Apologies for not knowing. Thanks.

Apoloigies: My error.

It's a glass building inside which are the turnstiles for entry to the southbound platform. There's a similar structure south of the station on the other northbound platform. So, it's a glass solid roofed building, not a platform shelter.

These are no speed restriction signs on the road and when you turn off into the estate to the west (Thistle Hill Way) the speed goes down to 30 with national speed limit applies on the reverse side indicating that part of Scocles Road is 60 mph. I came down via Elm Lane which is national speed limit from the corner near Drake Ave so, I assume that limit applies. I didn't cycle the north end of Scocles Road so don't know if the limit changes somewhere. I'll check to make sure I've not added a limit I cannot verify.

So I went and had a look. The path is signed as shared used from the east end but at the west end ie just off Gypsy Moth Ave there is an END of cycle path sign. The path is a narrow block paved route and in that part of the business park, the footpaths are block paved and the cycle paths are tarmac. So its ambiguous. How do you mark a cycle path where the signs are unclear?

I will cycle down there and check as soon as I can.

No idea, it should be shown as a cycle and foot path. I know of no reason why that should have been changed.

I didn't go south east along the path, so I can't comment. What I saw was Sustrans signs marking the route I road as NCN13.
