There was a spring at this location, it is now underground. Indian artifacts have been found near the spring. This spring is likely the source of the east branch of the Indian Creek.

There are numerous references to this spring, especially on historic maps. The PDF referenced above includes a photo. Please do not remove this point, it's meaningful to the community, even if the spring is no longer visible above ground.
If it doesn't exist, it shouldn't be mapped. As you both have stated, it is a historical item, so it should be moved or at least copied to OHM. If it isn't visible above ground, there might be a way to tag it as being below ground. Perhaps a layer=-1 tag?

The suggestion to do layer=-1 seems to have been implemented. Going to resolve this.
