Comment from Mateusz Konieczny
What is the source for location of this survey_point? What remain in the terrain that allows verification of this object?

Comment from lutz

Have you verified whether this object (or it remains) exists now (or at time of adding it)?
Note that fully gone objects without trace are not mappable in OSM (even if it is fully confirmed that they existed in the past)

The TP Beutenberg is easily recognizable as part of a network that mostly exists and can therefore be mapped very well. -

> is easily recognizable as part of a network
What remains of this specific survey point in its place?

Comment from lutz
The TP Beutenberg is mapped as razed (an OSM recognized namespace) and its importance in the network justifies its mapping.
What's not to understand? -

Hallo lutz,
Michael

Thanks mmd for letting me know (lutz, if you accuse other mappers it would be a good idea to let them know - especially as in this case you were mistaken about my relations with Geofabrik, I am not employed or contracted or in any way paid by them[*])
> The TP Beutenberg is mapped as razed
So this specific object is not existing and should be removed, right?
> What's not to understand?
Why you mapped nonexsiting object in OSM. Nonexisting objects that used to be part of larger system that mostly remains are not mappable in OSM.
For example if segment of railway line was removed without trace and replaced by open pit mine then it is not mappable anymore even if other segments are remaining.
[*] Unless you count very indirect cases like "Geofabrik paid taxes, partially redirected by Germany to EU budget which were used through multiple levels of indirection to pay for StreetComplete development"

Exactly, next you can then delete all battlefields (historic=battlefield), many excavation sites (historic=archaeological_site), deserted areas (abandoned:place) etc., because only fields, bushes or forests can be seen on site. Your future as an extinguisher at OSM is secured for years! Congratulations

> deserted areas (abandoned:place)
many of them will be still place=locality
but yes, if old village is not used even as a name to refer to specific location then it should not be in OSM. OHM is also a great project and one that actually intends to store historic data.
And yes, many objects mapped in OSM are not existing in reality (outdated data, vandalism, people mistakenly mapping historic objects in it). These should be deleted.
And BTW, I prefer to process railways which are often quite clear over historic=archaeological_site which are far trickier and historic=battlefield that at least have history of being shown on maps.
