From looking at https://resultmaps.neis-one.org/osm-discussion-comments?uid=206929 , it seems that people tried explaining a few times how to map separated and non-separated highways.

Perhaps it would help to talk to the Australian community as you are editing, rather than just replying to comments afterwards? There are several ways to do this: https://openstreetmap.community/ has a few suggestions for Australia such as https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-au , and on https://openstreetmap.org/changeset/126912494 Dian has already suggested Discord (a chat platform).
