It would be cool to have a “real-time” layer or a “temporary” layer. This way it will not affect the current state of OSM (and other applications), but it would show temporary differences on a map. For example this allows you to map constructions and all, without affecting the real map. I assume that is not possible in the current state of OSM but it gives something to think about if the OSM community does want to map more “real-time” aspects to the environment.
