On April 20th 2020, I sent a post to the mail liste OSM-Talk about the describing of the libraries. Very poor tags have been added to the Tag:amenity=library wiki page. https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:amenity%3Dlibrary . No progress was made after the short discussion at that stage. More interest was raised on the French OSM Mail list and a table was displayed (May 20th) on the talk page of FR:amenity=library > https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/FR:Tag:amenity%3Dlibrary. Yes, it can seem to be exageratly complex and abundant for those who dont know this large field. Dont forget : there are 2,5 M of libraries, with incredible variety of offers, materials, statuses, targets and more on. Join the conversation. Have no library near your home or in your life ?

Le 20 mai 2020, j’ai fait part sur la liste de distribution internationale OSM-talk de la constatation que les tags de description des bibliothèques, archives et centre de documentation étaient restés peu nombreux et imprécis. Peu de suggestions arrivèrent, mais la discussion s’est poursuivie sur la liste OSM francophone https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-fr/2020-May/thread.html#99135 et un tableau a été mis sur la page de discussion de FR:amenity=library > https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/FR:Tag:amenity%3Dlibrary . Ceux qui sont peu familier du domaine peuvent le trouver exagérément complexe et détaillé. Gardez à l’esprit qu’il y a environ 2,5 M de “libraries”, avec un foisonnement d’offres, de statuts, de cibles et bien d’autres éléments. Participez à ce chantier : il vous concerne, car vous connaissez, au moins, une bibliothèque.
