Ujjawal Madan is now enrolled as an on-campus student at Georgia Tech’s MS in Analytics program. As the title implies, I come from an unusual background. My two primary interests as a student were math and music, a not-so-unusual pairing. I chose to completely commit to being a professional musician, primarily an orchestral performer, after getting admitted to Juillard for my undergraduate studies. However, during an internship in arts administration, I spent a significant amount of time working with the Analytics team on trends, modeling, and forecasting. Enthusiastic about analytics’ capabilities and potential, as well as its expanding importance across many sectors, I found myself naturally gravitating toward data science.
