Changeset When Comment

I just realised I shared an unhelpful link in my previous comment. Apologies, I meant to share disused=*:

Hi, thank you for these improvements. I notice you've tagged way/111371682 as service=drive-through which seems like a mistake.

41810237 almost 6 years ago

I suspect that way/77428973 should be highway=service rather than highway=secondary - does this seem reasonable?

Yes, and this changeset added the Red Lion car park but tagged it as the public car park which I've fixed since leaving my comment: node/5718515077/history

Thanks, I didn't check the history carefully enough. The mapper who entered that name has been inactive for two years, so I've opened a note at note/2093029 - I was in the area yesterday but I don't know it well myself.

Hi, I suspect "Barrow Clogh Wood" at way/53747823 is a typo for "Barrow Clough Wood" but I'm uncertain.

Thank you for editing the map, but this seems to be a duplicate of the pub already mapped at way/364768722 - it's probably best to delete it.

I've removed duplicate nodes for the church and pub here and tried to merge the information onto the ways. I hope I've tagged everything correctly: changeset/80921346.

Hi, I reclassified three power=line ways added in this changeset as power=minor_line in changeset/80548996 as that seemed like a more suitable description to me.

74992070 almost 6 years ago

I've fixed this in changeset/80389686 and added a note to discourage further mistakes.

74992070 almost 6 years ago

Why have you tagged way/23608133 as a tunnel? It's a bridge.

78926704 almost 6 years ago

Thank you for adding a note to mention that this cafe has closed. However, it's still tagged as a cafe. You might want to consider using the changeset/78922133 approach so that it's no longer considered an functioning cafe.

Hi, you requested a review for this edit: I notice you tagged way/746127935#map=19/54.17175/-6.34371 using addr:housenumber and addr:street but the others, such as way/746252531 have a "name" that looks like it should be an addr:housenumber instead (ideally with the street name too).

Also, the buildings are tagged "building=yes" which is fine, but I suspect "building=house" would be more descriptive.

Thank you for taking the time to help improve the map.

This looks like spam. You seem to have made little effort to understand how to tag properly for OpenStreetMap to help improve the data. It's great that you want to help improve the map, but please don't invent your own tags: take some time to understand how things work here.

Hi, welcome to OpenStreetMap! Thank you for helping to improve the map.

Hi, you asked for a review of your changes. Firstly, welcome to OpenStreetMap!

Your work looks good to me. If you have any more details about the buildings you added, such as addresses or names of businesses that operate from the industrial buildings, it would be helpful to add them.

I notice another mapper has already marked the swimming pool you added as private: way/747921597/history

Thank you very much for your helpful improvements to the map.

Hi, thank you very much for helping to improve the map. I notice you requested a review of your changes. I have made a few modifications at changeset/77440793.

I get the impression the Kempton Steam Museum is the name of the museum, so belongs in the "name" tag, but the organisation that runs it "Kempton Great Engines Trust" belongs in the "operator" tag. Likewise, I expect the road to the south is managed by them rather than named after them.

Also, the road leading to the petrol station probably isn't named "Shell". The petrol station itself already has this information at way/243794318.

If you have more information about the bus stops you modified, you might want to follow the process described at osm.wiki/NaPTAN/Surveying_and_Merging_NaPTAN_and_OSM_data.

Thanks again for your helpful work. Feel free to fix my changes if you think they're wrong, and have fun improving the map in future.

Hi, you requested a review of your changes.

I notice you have left the operator tag as "Cocum" which seems like a mistake and the FHRS ID 200123 is for Cocum - I found it by following the "Merton" link from https://ratings.food.gov.uk/open-data/en-GB. I suggest removing both these tags. What do you think?

Thank you for helping to improve the map.

Hi, you requested a review of your changes. I don't know the area, but the tags you've used look sensible and helpful to me. Thank you for improving the map.

Hi, thank you for fixing my mistake :)
