I’m Paolo Melchiorre (aka paulox), an independent consultant working with Python and Django, and a contributor to Django and the wider Python ecosystem.

I’m a Fellow of the Python Software Foundation and a board member of the Django Software Foundation. I’m also a co-founder of Python Pescara and Django on the Med.

My technical expertise includes Django internals, especially the ORM, Python and its standard library, code modernization and testing, and database features, with long-standing experience in PostgreSQL.

I’m a conference speaker and technical blogger at www.paulox.net, where I write about Python, Django, PostgreSQL, and Free Software, and more recently about the impact of AI-assisted development on Open Source.
