Hello, I am Brian Yongo. A graduate in Environmental Conservation & Natural Resource Management from the University of Nairobi. My main interest as an environmental scientist is in GIS. I have undergone various trainings and internships on spatial mapping, remote sensing & cartography especially in the Kenyan coastal counties of Mombasa, Kwale and Kilifi. The main activities included monitoring and management of Beach Management Units(BMUs), spatial mapping of fishing grounds, and mapping the biodiversity of Kenyan coastal forests. I exclusively use opensource tools i.e Qgis, SAGA and Josm. My next frontier is to master geo-spatial data analysis using python.
