Xin Tao is currently a lecturer with the department of geographical sciences at University of Maryland.

He teaches open-source GIS using OpenStreetMap, PostgreSQL, Leaflet, and OpenLayers, etc.

He also teaches web GIS and mobile GIS. An example is VA medical facility finder.

He maintains server tutorials for tiles, route planning, geocoding, and email.

His nominatim instance displays well on his old Samsung tablet.

He lives in 9509A 50th Ave, and travels between Maryland and New Jersey.
