7 days ago | Hi, thanks for editing in Lusaka/Zambia. While some of the roads you have re tagged as residential run through residential areas, such as Teagles Road, they are probably more accurately tagged as unclassified as they are more like 'connector' roads with residential roads running off them see the wiki highway=residential?uselang=en-GB. Also don't rely solely on Bing imagery as it is often out of date, switch between Bing and Esri to find the most up to date imagery. Happy mapping
5 months ago | Hi, Please ensure you are using the latest available imagery when deleting buildings. In many cases in Zambia Bing is not the latest imagery and mappers may have added buildings using Esri World Imagery and those buildings do not yet appear in Bing. Thanks
9 months ago | Hi, You are using sources that give old pre-independence names that have been changed.
12 months ago | Hi Biff, It is just that in Zambia, although they have toll gates and the roads are not toll roads in the true sense of a toll road. It is supposed to be a means of raising money for the maintenance of the road network. In Europe you would be able to travel the entire continent without using a toll road while still using a decent road, in Zambia you could not do it without serious 4 wheel drive. Many of what would appear to be roads in the imagery and are sometimes mapped as roads by remote mappers are nothing more than tracks. My concern is that OSM data is used by routing software and it is possible to request this software to provide a route between 2 points avoiding tolls. In this case in Zambia it would then route you down some pretty impassable tracks. Sometimes what is correct technically as per Western definitions is not correct elsewhere. My personal feeling is not to classify any roads in Zambia as toll roads as technically they are not and nobody in Zambia thinks of them as true toll roads.
12 months ago | Hi Biff, In reality all major roads in Zambia are toll roads but not in the classic sense. There are not many ways to avoid the tolls without taking some major detours on some very poor roads. I am not sure how tagging just the approaches to the toll gates as toll roads will influence suggestions made by routing engines useing OSM data, particularly as many roads are incorrectly classified by remote mappers.

about 1 year ago | Hi, I found reference to the name and boundaries and it is Rufunsa. And the act is just lazy in describing the boundaries. The Rufunsa Conservancy boundary as mapped by you is correct.
| 159675573 | about 1 year ago | Hi,
2 questions: 1 Is this named Rufunza Conservancy, or Rufunsa Conservancy. The District, the river and the town are all Rufunsa, with an s. 2 It appears that the conservancy overlaps with a section of the Lower Zambezi National Park. Are you able to give the source of the boundaries? The Act in Zambia states the boundary of the park follows the Mwambashi
Thanks |

about 1 year ago | Becareful using just Bing. In places Esri is more recent although not as clear in this area.
about 1 year ago | Hi as this road only provides access to Mutinondo it should be classified as a service road as per the wiki highway=service?uselang=en-GB
about 1 year ago | Please do not map tracks around fields. These change every year and are never permanent. If you switch between Esri imagery and Bing you will see what I mean. Bing is way out of date so a number of building structures no longer exist. This HOT project should be closed as it is pointless and the census was 2 years ago. No one is verifying the data
about 1 year ago | If the road condition is bad and you know the state, then use the smoothness tag to indicate the condition of the road.
over 1 year ago | Before you delete any buildings or features make sure you are using the most up to date satellite imagery for the region. Many of the buildings here were mapped using Maxar that was generally the most recent but it is no longer available to mappers. ESRI is better than Bing. But that is not the case over the whole of Zambia. Just check between the layers. It is the reason I think mapping buildings is pointless in Zambia, particularly for census purposes. I suggest you review your recent edits in this region.

over 1 year ago | Hi please don't tag ways with the name=no
over 1 year ago | Hi Conrad98, The Msoro Road should be classified as a tertiary road as per the wiki, highway=tertiary. It connects to the small settlement of Msoro which is not a major town but mainly a mission station.
almost 2 years ago | In fact I would hazard a guess that the spring is not in the channel but at this location 16°03'55.0"S 28°51'38.9"E and then flows into the channel
almost 2 years ago | I would imagine the flow of the Zambezi would be stronger than any flow from the stream and so the flow would all be north, technically a side stream of the Zambezi with a hot spring in the middle of it
