This is a common misunderstanding.. 'Mormon' is an unofficial or nickname of a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is not a denomination. If 'the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints' is not considered a suitable denomination 'Restorationist' or 'latter-day saint' movement are better categorizations. Refer to:
