Hi,
This is a bus stop, not a store. Please pay attention as you are doing maproulette challenges.

Hi,
Just so you know, for places like this the address tag should only go on the main building, not outlying buildings like garages and barns.

Thank you for your contributions.

Sincerely,
aweech

Actually, what people do is go over Victory to get to downtown. It's what my grandfather and all of his colleagues did when he worked in a bank tower downtown, and it's what I did when I commuted to the U. Who knows why we do it; maybe avoiding stop lights or something. But it's the way people drive.

I just noticed this changeset when I wondered why Beck Street was no longer primary. While it is true that the new exit is favored by routers, loads of people still use Beck Street to access downtown from the north. In the UDOT data I looked it, it gets twice the traffic of 600 North.

Hi,
Nearly every incorporated community in Utah with a population greater than 1000 is legally a city. In OpenStreetMap, we don't use the legal classifications for the place tag, but instead use a hierarchical system. So cities are more important than towns which are more important than villages which are more important than hamlets. Maybe after another decade of growth Heber City could qualify as a place=city, but for now it's too small and too close to Provo to qualify (imo).

Hi,
Welcome to OpenStreetMap, and thank you for your contributions! Just so you know, features like industrial areas aren't supposed to match up with any property lines, but are supposed to show the developed portion of the property. It looks like you matched it to the perimeter fence, which is a totally fine thing to do.

Hi,
Why did you change Heber City from a place=town to a place=city? It doesn't have the traditional hallmarks of a city like a university or a temple (though it should be getting a temple later this decade). And it doesn't even have a population of 20k yet.

Hi,
In OpenStreetMap, we title-case street names. So the road that you labeled "OAKHILL Road" is properly spelled "Oakhill Road", how it was before you changed it.

I did the survey I wanted, and it left me more confused than before. I'm going to have to send a letter to NHDOT to tease this out.

There's nothing wrong with adding all this landcover detail. If you feel like it's worthwhile, then go for it! Most of Europe is covered in high-resolution landcover information, and it does look quite nice there.

I agree that SR 20 is a better fit for trunk than US 89 north of Panguitch. I also agree that I'm not a fan of any of US 89 in Utah besides Sardine Canyon being trunk, but folks I've talked to from Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, and Arizona want this route to be trunk. Thanks for drafting an initial page and posting the link. I'm going to look it over this morning and make some contributions.

Hi,
Your edits in this area run afoul of OpenStreetMap's one feature, one element guideline. You combined the tags from three different features into one element, which means that the associated tags are all wrong now. As an example, the name of the stream running through Little Wild Horse Canyon is not "Little Wild Horse Canyon Trail". Also the name of Little Wild Horse Canyon is not "Little Wild Horse Canyon Trail". I'll be reverting these edits later today.

FYI, Xvtn, the expressway definition of trunk doesn't hold any consensus anymore. There's been a lot of talk over the past year about reworking national and state-level guidance for highway classification to be more like other countries on the talk-us mailing list and the OSMUS Slack. We haven't started drafting state-level guidelines for Utah yet, mainly because Oregonian3 did a good enough job when they redid everything a few years ago that it's not pressing like it is in other states.

I brought up this case to the folks in the Slack this morning, and I'm waiting a bit to get some other opinions before changing it to Main Street.

Hi,
Why set 1000 West to trunk instead of Main Street? I feel like most folks going through either of those canyons would be going to the main part of Logan rather than skirting the western edge. (sorry if this went through twice, I'm not sure if the web UI is having glitches or if it failed to go through the first time)

Hi,
I've noticed that you've started deleting and redrawing objects rather than modifying them. Please know that this removes the history, which makes it more challenging to spot mistakes and to understand how the tags on a feature have changed over time. Please see osm.wiki/Good_practice#Keep_the_history for more information.

Sincerely,
aweech

Hi,
I reviewed your edits, as you requested. Just so you know, the motorway junction tag is for things like exits from I-93. I replaced it with the trailhead tag where applicable. I also cleaned up the geometries so they weren't overlapping or disconnected anymore.

Thank you for your contributions!

Hi,
Welcome to OpenStreetMap, and thank you for your contributions. I decided to remove this parking area because this isn't a parking lot operated by Ace Parking, and because we don't really map informal parking areas. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi,
Do you have more information about that path that you drew between the edge of the park and Delicate Arch? It doesn't appear to be used at all nowadays based on Strava data. Who calls it "Winter Camp Ridge to Delicate Arch Trail", and is it actually used?

Hi,
A turning circle is a widened area of road that allows vehicles to turn around easily, and they are often found at the ends of streets. Please see highway=turning_circle for more information.

Hi,
In this edit, you deleted several water features and an entire golf course. Please be aware that deleting things that are real is not appropriate behavior, and the original versions will be restored. Features should be modified rather than deleted in most cases.
