I had no idea this was so additive! | Hi brian. Well, just download the IMG-file that you want. Then place it in the Garmin folder as you said. I know some people have complained that they don’t show up unless you put them on your devices memory and not the external SD-card. There is also alot of conflicts with other IMG-files. Try to rename some of the other ones to say example.imgx or so, adding just a letter to the extension to disable them. But the most important thing is to restart the device once the IMG-file is there. It should work. Keep fighting. |

My problem with GPS traces and my Garmin Monterra | Hahaha, that link was hilarious aseerel4c26! 😀 Yes, since started mapping I have noticed a need for going to visit places that I am unsure of ☺ |

Ok, so I am a bit tired now | Thanks Stalfur, I will take your advice. And thanks for the link ☺ Sanderd17, you are right of course. I like mapping good, but when there is nothing but some roads here and there the map isn’t as fun to use. I figured I would fill it up with houses first, and footways, and residential roads before going more into the details of everything. But you are right, although I might be a little bit of an armchair mapper ☺ I didn’t know about what gave stats and what didn’t. I actually entered the hours, and number ( yes I know it’s disputed) to a cvs pharmacy today. Figured it would be useful ☺ I also showed my wife and she understood why it can be so addicting making edits. |

Ok, so I am a bit tired now | Awesome, I will see if I can use it, sounds a bit dangerous though :-) |

Ok, so I am a bit tired now | Thanks 4rch! I will check that plugin out. Perhaps I should have used that right angle thingy earlier cause I have a hard time seeing me going back and correcting all of them. I will however use it for the buildings I will be putting up in the future :-) |

My problem with GPS traces and my Garmin Monterra | Thanks aseerel4c26! I see that I better leave my GPS in wgs84 mode. I wouldn’t want to convert everything, and I enjoy uploading my traces so everyone can use them. I have moved to JOSM and are putting up houses in my village. I’m counting on going high on the highscore list tomorrow :-D I have not yet tried traces in JOSM but will soon, I just have to map all( Yes there is something wrong with me) houses in my village first. |

My problem with GPS traces and my Garmin Monterra | Snowflower thank you! I have only seen that in my GPS settings and thought that I better leave it at the default wgs1984 or something like that. How do I know what datum the maps uses? I will google it, and thank you very much for bringing this to my attention :-) |

My problem with GPS traces and my Garmin Monterra | Thanks Escada. I did just that, but I only saw other peoples traces and not my own. I will take on JOSM when I have gotten a little bit better at this. I like the hardcore stuff, I drink my coffee black ;-) |

I had no idea this was so additive! | I did not know that. I need to find these rules and read them. I am watching a video now on how to use JOSM, but when done I will go and read up on the rules. Thanks for pointing it out :-) |

I had no idea this was so additive! | Thanks Escada. I will separate my patches then. I thought about it myself. While it isn’t that hard to separate nodes it is easier to draw the say forest with a space to the road. The only problem as I see it is that the maps won’t be as good looking as they would otherwise :-) |

I had no idea this was so additive! | Ok, thanks RM87! |

I had no idea this was so additive! | Thank you Sander! Great info! One thing more, I wonder if I should have say forest areas all the way up to roads so that the dots connect? Or should there be a space in between? So many questions. I will definitely go check out nearby mappers and IRC/Mailing lists :-) |

I had no idea this was so additive! | Thank you escada! I will check this fora out. I normally google things because it is faster than posting questions, but the thought of IRC had crossed my mind. I am glad to hear there is at least one channel then. I also appreciate you clearing this path/foot path issue. Luckily I did it the right way ( I think ) so I don’t have to change them all. Now I am off to check out the Swedish community of mappers. Have a good day, and happy mapping on you too :-) |
