This route circles the crest of the Corona Volcano, part of the Protected Natural Monument L-04 La Corona, it is also a Special Conservation Area for its geological values ​​and a Priority Area for reproduction, feeding, dispersion and concentration of species of the threatened avifauna in the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands.
Access to the crest of the volcano is not allowed due to possible damage to the natural environment (mainly erosion of geological structures, and disturbance to birds, with the danger of abandoning nests and chicks) and due to risk to people's lives ( the combination of vertical volcanic walls, fragility of the volcanic materials and strong winds aloft, have previously caused fatalities on the crest of the volcano
