Hi, please click q on your keyboard when mapping buildings, this will make the corners 90 degrees.

Thank you for mapping on this project. It looks like your organization is doing a large mapping event, which is great, but some mappers on your team are making a number of mistakes and mapping on projects that are not great for beginner mappers. Can you or your organizers either respond to this comment or please email <partnerships@hotosm.org> which is the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team, they can help your event organizers with trainings and best practices to make sure your volunteers are creating good map data.

For example, mappers using #gomicron21 are adding duplicate roads where roads already exist, connecting buildings to roads or overlapping roads, not squaring the corners of buildings by clicking the q key on your keyboard, not connecting roads to other roads that should be connected, and mapping roads with the incorrect classification — most roads that are missing will be residential, unclassified or track, but some mappers are adding them as “motorway” which is only correct for large, divided, controlled access freeways. I recommend you look at https://learnosm.org/en/beginner/ to learn how to map, as well as mapping on beginner projects that are buildings-only, those are best for new mappers.

Also please remind mappers to look at the left side of the screen when saving their edits, if there are any red or yellow messages, those are errors that the mappers should fix before they upload the data.

Hi there, please look at any warnings you get before uploading. In this case this road isn't connected to anything else.

Hi there, please look at any warnings you get before uploading. In this case this road isn't connected to anything else. And you mapped it as a "motorway" which is a large, multilane controlled access freeway, which is not this road. If you are part of a mapathon event can you please contact me?

Thanks for mapping! Please make sure to map each building individually as a separate building, rather than multiple buildings as one big building
