I got it. Sometimes I have the same issue as you. I usually re-download the nearby area after uploading to OSM then click Validate (Shift+V) in JOSM, just to make sure my edit is not causing more problems. Maybe you want to try that trick OR please let me know if you have another one. I'm happy to learn from OSM folks.
