1. I was unaware about the conventions in the mapping of populated areas as places. Just now got familiar of it and I'll make amends in further edits. Regarding this particular changeset your suggestions are correct. But the problem is I'm familiar only with ID and not JOSM. So, can you please revert the changeset.
2. At the time of merging the river segments, I didn't get the concept of relations clearly. I'll make amends in further edits. But I think reverting this change will be pretty difficult as it was done over multiple changesets and reverting those will also modify the other changes in those changesets.
