Basic principle here is "don't tag for the renderer". The map shown here is generic, and things like name tags shouldn't be complicated just so it looks nicer on the map here.

Seems to have worked, so do the same to the east, and remove river relation, using separate river areas as appropriate

I should point out that my personal dislike of multiple languages in the 'name' tag comes down to the 'tagging for the renderer' concept.

Having a look at other places, it's moderately common to have multiple languages in the name field. I can see some sense in this, so I've reverted it again (changeset/14404960)

The other regions have the 'name' tag as English. If you want inconsistent naming, be my guest and revert this.

Please do not do this. Choose one language or the other and use that for the 'name' tag. Do not put both in a messy way like this

The 'name' tag should be only a single language. The policy is that Outer Hebrides names should be in Gaelic, and every other place in English. Apologies if there was any confusion.
