Footways are are not connected to streets, it's usually implied that streets have sideways. The "name tag" is usually for official names, like "McDonalds" or "Hoover Dam".

Tip: Exclude data you don't want to see on the right side so you don't change them. Like borders or railroads.
Maybe I could help you a little bit and have some fun mapping.

Ah, for trails it's preferred to use highway=path

Footways are mostly inside of parks in inner cities.

Hi,

I deleted this "mountain" because it's not really useful. Name tag was wrong and the shape was also a Self-intersecting polygon.
