Member of the OpenStreetMap Foundation, I work in city-development / regional economics in Berlin. I am also a pilot for ultralight planes and gliders. So naturally, maps have become a bit of a passion.

What I’m mapping and why:

• industrial and commercial-use areas for regio-economical analysis
• remote areas in southern Africa for research purposes (field research in linguistics)
• hot-osm tasks when i have the time
• the village i come from
• see my activity on osm

How I am using osm:

• for work in regional-economical analysis, site evaluations, development concepts

• for documentation and communication about our project-areas (for example in QGIS or as a webmap like here)
• as basis for scientific maps in the area of african linguistics (commissioned maps)
• for maps on our company-blog
• for my personal blog
