Current activities:
Mostly doing map cleanup within Stockton city limits. Reviewing the TIGER imported data compared to arial photos, and doing data validation on the streets. It's surprising how many disconnected roads there are in the TIGER dataset at city/county boundaries, particularly at the boundaries where portions of the county have been engulfed by Stockton's growth.

I have also been adding information on the bicycle infrastructure to OSM, hopefully it will show up in OpenCycleMap soon. I have added class I, II, and III facilities in much of north Stockton, although I haven't done much east of West Lane (the Holman Dr vicinity and out to Hwy 99). My basis for these updates is the Feb 2006 Bikeway plan from the City of Stockton, verified using site visits, bird's eye views, or Google's street views. Unfortunately the City's map was wrong when published, and hasn't been updated in more than 3 years.

Previous Activities:
Tracing water features (lakes, rivers, streams) in NE San Joaquin County, correcting rural road alignments to match arial photos, and adding tracks/driveways to the map. I am using USGS 7.5' quad map sections to organize the work. I can do a 1/16 section of a quad map in about an hour and upload the changes.

So far I have completed the SJ sections of Goose Creek quad map
SW: NW,NE,SW,SE
SE: NW,NE,SW,SE

and the Clay quad map
SW: SE
SE: SW,SE

The Clements quad map was next, but is incomplete. I've finished:
NW: NW,NE,SW,SE
NE: NW,NE,SW,SE

I was planning to start on SE next. With 400 or so segments to go before San Joaquin county is finished, I lost some motivation, and recently the NHD import process looks like it is almost solved, so I put this project on hold. If all the waterways are imported using the NHD as a source, the review and editing of each 1/16th of a quad will be much faster.

Older activities:

-Downgrading paved and unpaved levee roads to tracks.
-adding highway=gate node tags to maintenance roads
-connecting levee roads to roads they intersect
-designating secondary/tertiary roads for in-city traffic flow

Sketching in new subdivisions

Correcting coastlines in the Sac-San Joaquin Delta within San Joaquin County limits
