It would have been an outer marker.
There's no trace of the hut and antenna now, you'll just have to take my word for it - I stood there with a frequency counter right next to the folded dipole and got a nice reading of 75.000 MHz from it :)

The phone box is visible on StreetView in a recess in the playground wall. If it's no longer there, you've done the right thing to remove it.

I vaguely remember (FFS this was some time ago) having problems editing this one.
It's correct now, so why are you wasting our time worrying about it?

I had a chuckle the other day as I walked past the P.O. and saw that there's a 17 on the door on the right, now - is that proof enough? :)

A quick Google search will reveal that both 15 and 17 are still used by the Post Office, and these simple plain facts could just as easily have been taken from Almanacs of street addresses in the library, annual publications going back to the 1800s. I merely took a shortcut. Can't see it's an issue.

Thanks for your kind words.
My mistake, 15 and 17 were bought in the early 1900s and the Post Office built there.
The RBC/States are 19-21. I've corrected this now.

Well I'm delighted, original old maps never had any Le or La, etc.

It was just the JT phone book back in the 1980s that muddied the waters by adding them :)

Residents of this stretch of lane are free to drive westwards, and exit onto the main road, so it's sort of 2-way but isn't. Feel free to correct this, I've no idea how that should be set :)
Plus, cyclists are permitted both ways.
Cheers

The hotel was demolished, construction of new residential units well underway

Thanks for your reply. If we can just leave things as they are for now, please, as that seems easier and best all around! Cheers

Partial apologies, if you've only touched the ones named "bunker", as you've undone less of my work than I initially thought. But I still maintain that explorers using the map would be interested to see that the unspecified bunkers are indeed bunkers, as there's no other indication on the website map.

I see you've been removing names from my hard work identifying all the types of WW2 Bunkers on Jersey. Can I ask why? From previous discussion it seems you're heavily focussed on getting the database "correct", but this is spoiling the usefullness of the standard website map. I have been trying to make the normal map informative for 99% of users, but if you remove the bunker types from how I've named them, this data will not be seen by the majority of users. What are we trying to achieve here? Users don't browse the database, they look at the map!!!

Thanks Grauer, I'd be happier if farmland still showed up as green on the map, instead of the dirty brown we get when people update these meadow tags, but I suppose you're doing nothing wrong so... thank for your updates :)

Can you describe what you have done, please? I'm concerned that you've undone a lot of my hard work. Thanks

I've put a lot of effort into the Jersey part of OSM, as I live here and actually know the island and its quirks. My aim has been to produce a map that is useful in its standard presentation. It's frustrating that there have been several instances of things changing and affecting this state of affairs, and it always seems to be **YOU** doing it. I'm not interested in a 'database', just the standard map. If my work is not appreciated, then I will no longer contribute. I merely wonder why your considerable talents can't be more usefully employed in many other areas of the world, rather than making our corner of the world's map worse?

The roads inside the gates are known by the Gate Numbers, so it wasn't incorrect as it was. If this doesn't render on the map I will revert your changes. Will you ***PLEASE*** consider adding new detail rather than meddling with existing features?

41686348 over 9 years ago

Why have you made the 2 lane main road look like a lane now, and the much narrower lane now looks like the main route? Doesn't make sense! The C123 number is meaningless compared to the actual widths of the roads. Please revert.

Fine, change it if you like :)

Unless the map is rendered in everyone's interests (impossible!), I believe the private status is sometimes better spelled out for all to see as guidance. Otherwise it may encourage trespass. I realise this may be controversial :)
