An unmapped fissure is located at 64°15′30.9″ N, 21°06′07.6″ W‎. Snow makes it difficult to see. Because of the snow cover on April 3, 2026, a person slipped almost completely into it. The person is safe and uninjured.

I reconstructed the location using geo-tagged photos from two different devices and the relative position to two known stone cairns (node/6634210924 & node/6634236455) on these photos.

Even though there was the snow cap, these pictures also show that the fissure seems to continue at ‎64°15′30.5″ N, 21°06′07.5″ W‎ and is interrupted by the Göngovegur.
