Hi DelgermaaNamsrai, first of all thanks for mapping in this remote region :). I see that you seem to have created a few nodes in this area, some of them with only a name tag, for example: huhhun am; emch; nogoonii ehen.
Names alone without additional tags don't represent anything in Openstreetmap, they are not displayed and are practically useless for applications etc. Names need to refer to something, a river, a mountain, a locality, a wood... you name it. Would it be possible to add the correct tags? This would enrich our map hugely. Thanks in advance for your collaboration and keep mapping!

Hi Frans, first of ll thanks for your feedback. I am aware that you don't request landuse features in this task but I chose to do so as it is not wasted time for me. You might not need it for this specific project but I believe it is good to have the data available in OSM anyway. Regarding the track/residential highway I take note and will be more careful in the future, taking into consideration the link you have provided.

Hi archie,
thanks! Nevertheless, if you come up with a better way to tag this don't hesitate changing this again. we're here to make this the best map of the world!

Hi archie,
not that I am an expert, but what was wrong about the highway=service; area=yes? I had doubts as well on how to tag a big asphalted space on a private industral space, kind of a yard. That's why I asked the community (Telegram Group) and I was told this was correct.

Hallo PT-53,

First of all apologies if I did anything that disturbed navigation. If I remember well I only changed the tag -> residential inside the town, not the roads that connect large areas. To understand better and avoid this in the future, can you specify (maybe with screenshot and arrows) which streets have been incorrectly modified by me?

Hi meilandharezty,
I see you have just started contributing recently, so first of all a big thank you and a huge welcome!!
You've done a good job adding these roads and especially all the builings, it sure took some time :) Nevertheless, I´d like to make two suggestions (and I am not the biggest expert either, so I'm open to discussion):
1. When creating buildings it is common best practice to make them really square. Even though in real life they generally aren´t 100%, in OSM we tend to make them completely square, unless the form is really strange. In the ID editor this is very easy: Just draw the builings as best as you can, then press the "S" key.
2. Most of the roads you have traced have been classified as "Track". As there are no specific tagging guidelines for Indonesia (there are for other countries) the normal definitions should be applied. In this case we are dealing with lines that connect different communities/villages, sometimes they are the most important connection. For this reason I suggest to use either "tertiary" (the bigger ones), or "unclassified" (lowest level of interconnection). Highway= track is defined as: "roads for mostly agricultural use, forest tracks etc".
I hope this makes sense to you and has helped a little bit. In any case, thanks again for contributing!

Hi Harald, this is my mistake. I just inadvertedly did a copy/paste of something that has nothing to do. It's already removed.

Hi mavl. I absolutely see your point. My appraoch was the following: According to the imagery there are "roads" in this town that appear to be VERY basic. Basic up to a point that their characteristics are more like a track (in the sense of OSM). I imagine a driver with a GPS device, thinking he will drive on a residential road, and instead his car gets stuck in the mud. That's why I chose track instead of residential road. But of course I don't know the area personally and if you think it's better to stick to the general tagging rules I will from now on do it.

Hi Andy,
thanks for letting me know, I am not aware of having changed something that affected the whole globe. Checking random ways/nodes it is mainly adding of buildings or minor highways etc., so it's on minor scale.
I am not an expert so far, is there a way to know to which node/way the bounding box refers to exactly? Maybe I have changed something without wanting it.
What I saw is that under this changeset there are loads of little additions distributed over the world, although I don't understand why because I always save in small steps. What I mean is that I never do a lot of changes, especially changing not countries, and then save - but always do a group of smaller changes and then save more often.

Please let me know how I can help avoiding: Thanks and best regards,

Marcos

I agree with SK53, the proof is that I actually didn't see that the George was already there because the icon was so far away from the building, even less visible than the parking lot also named the George. But hey, these are details, just wanted to put this nice pub on the map...
