This is the entry to the Horseshoe Marsh Nature Trail, an almost 1k birding trail within the Houston Audubon Society's Horseshoe Marsh Nature Preserve.

Much of this marshland inside the perimeter of Broadway, Loop 108, Kingston, and Hwy-87 is the Horseshoe Marsh Nature Preserve.

This is Port Bolivar Community Park

To my knowledge, this is the former site of Bolivar Elementary, and is still owned by Galveston ISD. It's private property, not a park, even though it has an unmaintained basketball court. The pavement is really all that remains. The building was destroyed after Hurricane Ike in 2008, but had been abandoned since GISD closed the school site to open Crenshaw School on 87 in 2003. I know this isn't a site for historic info, but hopefully knowing the history from a 46 year local of the area might enlighten your decision to make changes.
