About Me

Hello there! I am Mark Patrick Magpili, an enthusiast of open mapping. I enjoy contributing to community-driven maps like OpenStreetMap, taking part in mapathons, workshops, and humanitarian mapping activities—especially those that help communities prepare for and respond to disasters.

I graduated from the University of the Philippines Tacloban College with a degree in BS Management, where I also became active in mapping initiatives and organizations that promote open data for the common good.

From 2023 to 2024, I was an active member of the UP Tacloban YouthMappers, where I:
- Participated in mapathons, workshops, and community mapping activities
- Contributed to the organization of Pista ng Mapa 2023, the Philippines’ premier open mapping conference
- Made humanitarian mapping contributions to OpenStreetMap, focusing on buildings and areas affected by earthquakes and typhoons

Currently, I:
- Check in on OpenStreetMap from time to time
- Contribute edits and updates when possible
- Stay engaged with the open mapping community and its initiatives

My goal is to continue supporting open geospatial data and applying mapping to create meaningful humanitarian impact.
