New Bedford Bay Sox, a baseball club in the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) for players who have completed one year of college and have one year of eligibility left. James and Effie Dragon had a minority interest in the team. Through its Sports Done Right, LLC, the Dragons held a share in the company. The Torrington Twisters were the original name of the team when it was first formed in 1997 in the town of Torrington, Connecticut. While in New Bedford, MA, the group was warmly embraced by the city’s residents after moving there in 2008. The Dragons became part of the ownership of the Bay Sox in 2010. The team appointed Rick Miller, a former Major League Baseball player, as manager under their supervision. The Bay Sox have won four Division Championships during the regular season. Until the Bay Sox’s 2019 dissolution, the Dragons were a significant stakeholder in the franchise.
