I'm from Florence, Alabama (Lauderdale County) and have lived here all my life. I've been a 911 Dispatcher for 20 years now and a first responder for 22 years and the reason I'm here is because our CAD system at 911 in lauderdale county uses OSM Esri as the base map of Lauderdale County. The county and city GIS updates their created layers on our map in dispatch continuously so we can get emergency responders to the right place but that updated layer doesn't do anything with OSM of course, so therefor, OSM has a lot of out of date data. And by a lot.....its been a lot that i've found. There is also data that isn't on ariel shots of course.  
 I'm pretty much here to update a lot of the information that is out of date and tweak things as I see them by comparing it to multiple personal legal sources...on my own...voluntarily, at that.
 Learning OSM and all the information on what data it has and what its's capable of doing has been a lot and although I've read a lot of material on it, there is probably a lot I don't know either.
  Every little bit helps getting responders to get where they are going and I'm trying to make it easier for us 911 Dispatchers to locate what we need to on the map and also for responders in the field. You would be surprised on how many emergency communication programs uses the base layer of OSM or OSM in some sort.
