I started discovering OSM in September 2012 during a training with the representatives of HOT (Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team). The goal of the training was to prepare us for our 6 months deployment in African countries as part of the project Eurosha. I spent 3 months in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic.

Except for mapping we were presenting the open-source tools to local and international actors. After the attacks of the rebels, I had to leave the country and joined my Eurosha coleagues in Chad. During my time there we focused mainly on trainings for universities, authorities and other local and international actors with the goal of starting an OSM community in Chad.
