This location is incorrectly listed as a sandstone quarry (it may have been once?). The stone building caps a ~100m access shaft directly above the Nidd Aqueduct's 5.6km Greenhow Tunnel which was completed in 1899. The material in the spoil heap to the S was extracted via the shaft during its construction and is unrelated to any previous quarrying operations (if they existed).
