over 4 years ago | Ah, perhaps ID doesn't match the wiki. Good pickup then.
over 4 years ago | Yes, the wiki mentions that if it is a specialized signal, you should use one of the other terms. But the default is =signal
over 4 years ago | The new MD imagery show this area well. It has the new circle too. Want to update?
over 4 years ago | Here is the correct changeset comment changeset/111219556#map=14/39.6139/-76.8546
over 4 years ago | This changeset was uploaded in error. I meant to upload the changes to Hampstead separate.
over 4 years ago | hey DUGA, traffic_signals=traffic_lights is not a known value for traffic lights. Use traffic_signals=signal per traffic_signals=* I will update node/102880848
over 4 years ago | Wrong changeset name! Should have been: deleted unused way

over 4 years ago | Thank you for adding these! MDOT SHA is actively using OSM crosswalk data for analysis. We're also working on updating protected bicycle infrastructure like what you've added here, so this is perfect. I've been working on getting this into an OSM challenge for updates here: https://maproulette.org/browse/challenges/21234
over 4 years ago | fixed
over 4 years ago | Still closed today though the sidewalk is open. What sort of proprietary sources are we talking about for closures? The local governments maintain their own closure data.
over 4 years ago | Looks like I missed the existing node because it was outside of a buffer. I’ll move the one you cited to the center and fix
over 4 years ago | Good edit here. Noticed and was going to add this
over 4 years ago | saw these path ways today in my (similar) travels :) Nice work adding! When adding footways like this (or any "highway" feature, be sure to connect them to an adjacent highway. In this case the level1 abstraction level would be to simply connect them to the roads, but since there is a sidewalk there, and a curb blocking wheeled access, you could go deeper if you want and add the sidewalk--or you could add a curb object to indicate there is an obstruction there. Either way, at least connect it to something nearby. That lets routing tools work. Cheers! Elliott

over 4 years ago | Hello there and thank you for your contributions to OpenStreetMap. In OSM, place classifications are not based on the name, but rather their relative importance and population. See the wiki article on place=city > Use the place=city tag to identify the largest settlement or settlements within a territory, including national, state and provincial capitals, and other major conurbations. In Maryland we typically use the town for places between 10 and 50k population. > As of mid 2019, 63% of place=city have a population=* tag, of which the median value is 130,000, and 95% of place=city have a population=* value over 20,000 Mt Rainer was therefore classified village.
over 4 years ago | Nice work finding these! I missed them last night on my walk, too dark :D
