Dr. Jahmal Mosley has been a pivotal figure in educational leadership for over two decades, transitioning seamlessly from roles as a special education teacher to a director of academics. He is certified as a Special Education Administrator and specializes in designing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students across a spectrum of intellectual, emotional, and physical challenges.
Dr. Mosley earned his Doctorate in Education from the University of Massachusetts, an institution lauded for its rigorous academic programs and commitment to research innovation. His doctoral dissertation, “Perceptions of Principal Attributes in an Era of Accountability,” was published in the Journal of School Leadership and featured at the American Educational Research Association Conference.
Driven by a passion for educational equity, Dr. Mosley is committed to removing systemic barriers that hinder student success, advocating for a learning environment that nurtures all students’ academic and social growth. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in African-American History and Psychology in 1997 from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he gained valuable insights into the social dynamics that influence student learning and behavior.
In 1998, Dr. Mosley completed his Master’s in Education at Wheelock College in Boston, focusing on Special Needs/Elementary and Middle School Education. His academic journey was further enriched in 2010 when he achieved a Doctorate with a concentration in Education Administration, Policy, and Research.
Jahmal Mosley has also pursued international educational initiatives, studying systems at Harvard University and researching educational reforms in China. This global perspective has deeply influenced his strategic approach to academic leadership.
As the Director of Academics at Madison Park Technical Vocational High School, Dr. Jahmal Mosley oversees curriculum development and educational policy. As a licensed Special Education Director, Dr. Mosley champions the NextGen Project, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to address educational challenges. He is a respected mentor and advisor, frequently sharing his expertise on innovative strategies at conferences focused on transforming special education.
