Born in Tuscon, Arizona, Chacon is the son of Mexican immigrants who hailed from small towns in Sonora, Mexico. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Science from the University of Arizona before moving to California almost two decades ago. He completed his medical training and earned his MD and MBA degrees from UCLA Medical School and Anderson School of Management.
