Dr. Calvin Hirsch has devoted his life to assisting medical residents in caring for challenging patients on the inpatient medical service and overseeing residents in the outpatient General Medicine Clinic and the Internal Medicine Geriatrics Clinic, which he supervised for 30 years.

Dr. Calvin Hirsch has educated generations of medical students in the inpatient environment and through lectures. Several of Dr. Hirsch’s trainees have progressed to important academic geriatrics positions.

By the time Dr. Calvin Hirsch entered college, he was certain he wanted to be a doctor. He began his academic career at Yale University, where he got a bachelor’s degree in 1976.
