I didn't want to change them myself, incase there was some specific reason for you having used these tags.

I'm relived to see that my understanding of the tags was correct, but I have posted this question on the OSM India Telegram group, just to be sure.

Additionally, this page (osm.wiki/Disputed_territories) talks about tagging such boundaries with ) boundary=disputed + disputed=yes

tagging these with boundary = administrative & adminlevel=2 is causing them be interpreted by most software to be authentic and accepted.
