In 2015, the Welsh Government considered the same rename as well, so I believe they have some responsibility on it. We just have to wait and see. If it doesn't happen for months, then maybe a reconsideration. It could be within a month though (stretching "weeks" from November).

146516551 almost 2 years ago

That source states a Wales one would be weeks after 22 Nov in England. Wye Valley being partly English may be why they already have.

Seen nothing yet either, no date etc, but they may be scared of opposition on Gower like in 2015. Or the Senedd is just "busy rn"?

The speed limit for the Island Green car park is 10 mph, as it is private land and signposted as such. Just noticed you removed all the lower speed limits I added for the default assumption.

Helo Ceirios, but I am not a local (just reverting vandalism I noticed) so can't exactly check. I assume it is Pont. The deleted editor who made it, made other questionable edits, and as the other bridge was tagged Velindre Bridge, assumed it was an error and moved it. You could mark it with a note.

The previous edit was unrelated, no out of date imagery used, seems the building was never updated.

125587364 about 3 years ago

Wait apologies, my edits precede the upgrade (2 years ago), noticed you added the solar panels, although didn't change the building, will update instead, happy editing.

Hi, I've noticed your edits to SC2. Seems you're partly using out-of-date Bing Imagery. SC2 is a much bigger building than you added. For a few months, parts of OSM ID show 10yrs old satellite imagery.

Ah, very well, I'll revert it

I'd like to add, in terms of Bettisfield, local signage I see does not use "Llys Bedydd" just Bettisfield (even alongside bilingual street and warning signs) I rarely find sources for "Llys Bedydd" (with ones found either based on Wikipedia or very historical sources), that Wicipedia gives no sources for the name. The nearby SAC is translated to Bettisfield in Welsh (except WCBC which uses both B'field and L'ydd in Welsh, but they couldn't translate "street"). External sources say "Llyn Bedydd" is used mainly for a lake, and "Llys Bedydd" for an old hall nearby. However, if local Welsh speakers use the name, I'll be happy to or won't oppose a revert.

Many thanks, Jay

Noswaith dda,

I will go through the list again, maybe one or two names in the database I do not recognise as a local, (namely Plas Madog, which although reverts the anglicisation of -dog like in Porthmadog, I rarely hear it over Plas Madoc). Many of these places lack a sign (although they may share a road name), so opted to use external sources for their names, particularly for Welsh.

I mean I'll support it, considering you've already done it

Hi, very well, maybe "rebranded" may be a better descriptor, as the board decided to call itself a NL, with no change in legislation. OSM policy advocates for "Common or official usage, especially for a feature in the natural environment"; I'm assuming your argument is that trading names aren't official names which is plausible, so I'll revert the change.

The Welsh names are used in English. These roads are only signposted in their Welsh names. These added translated names are not used locally. Furthermore, there is a Montgomery Road located a mile south-west. There aren't two Montgomery Roads.

Although I'd like to mention that the UK does administer its overseas holdings differently than the other countries mentioned (likely explaining the prior arrangement), and they don't form part of the UK directly, but there is no longer a British Empire or an entity above the UK, so an alternative for this relation is needed or it be reverted.

104985844 over 4 years ago

Hi.

The term "British Empire" shouldn't be used, it is an obsolete term. However, I do believe the edit had some reasoning. The existing "United Kingdom" relation is an odd one out in terms of territories, the relations for United States, Netherlands, Norway and France all have their territories included (ex. Antarctica). This relation should in my opinion be merged with the existing "United Kingdom" relation to make a final relation called "United Kingdom" (the preexisting relation) with its territories included, although if unsure put it to the community.

Hi, it was done in an effort to prevent renderers (*) from showing two labels for each community/ward, but such change to labels has so far not appeared to work, so the nodes have been reverted back to admin_centre. I will concede that the change for Marchwiel to a label was incorrect, as it is an admin centre, yet renderers still display two labels next to each other. I'll leave this issue for another time. :) Thx for commenting.

* some (not all) renderers have this issue, which makes me assume it is on their part rather OSM.
