These names were removed as they were applied several years after the M17/M18 opened and they were only referred by those names during construction. Once opened the ref numbers became the naming scheme. Hope that clears it up

Hi Brian,

I'm loving that you are mapping these old tress, class bit of data to get into OSM.

Can you take a quick look at natural=tree just in regards to the tagging. I think where you are tagging using name=* it may be more appropriate to use species=* but I'll leave to you to decide

FYI, I removed all the naming you added to this route. These names are not correct as they were only referred to as such during construction. Once opened, the correct route reference took precedence

Many thanks for your edits in this area. As you can see, there are a lot of gaps in this area of Dublin so anything you can add is much appreciated by the local community

Hi, I dropped you a message about your edits. There are no cycle lanes or bus lanes on this street in Galway so I reverted your edits

Hi David, saw your request for a review. This is exactly the sort of info that should be in OSM. Can I ask for some clarification though. If I drive up Millmount Ave with the library on my right, when I get to the junction, I can only turn right if I'm in a car, but left or right if Im walking/cycling, is that correct?

I've rejoined the roads, but placed the bollards on the roads and marked a section as no access except for ped's and bikes.

Can you let me know if I've gotten it right or if further changes are needed.

Hi Ian, you asked for a review of your mapped feature. the apartments look good. Feel free to add more features to your locality

Hi Eoin, you requested a review of your mapped feature. The house you mapped looks good. Feel free to add more features in your locality as we currently don't have many mappers in your area.

Hi Dara, you added the node with the physio but its currently loctated in the middle of the turning circle. Can you edit it to refine the location, or even better, draw the building its in and move the mode so it sits inside the buidling. Need help? Just respond here

Apologies Ray, just in the process of moving (and selling) homes at the moment. Will have a look as soon as I can

It's entirely possible I traced it incorrectly. I will review and come back to you with an update. Thanks for highlighting

welcome back to OSM after a long break :)

Your townland edits are most welcome, especially in Cork

Cé Na Mara is an apartment block. I haven't done a detailed survey so I cant be certain about where they overlap if they do at all

The reasoning behind the change seems perfectly logical. If your nick showed up in my feed and I was able to see your change for what it was then there would be no issue as far as I am concerned. However the problem is the size of the area your changeset bounding box covers. It means I can't do a quick validation of an edit done by a user not local so I have to do extra digging, leave changeset comments etc. The end result, a lot of irritation and wasted time by all involved. Please keep this in mind the next time you plan on making fixes. Just for the record I agree with the fix you made here, but next time consider local mappers who monitor edits

27643750 almost 11 years ago

Please limit your changes to smaller areas. Given the amount of changes you made and the size of the area, it is impossible for local mappers to verify if your changes are correct. Your changeset comment is also very poor, what exactly did you fix?? I am seriously tempted to revert your changes or at the least escalate to the DWG. I await your response

aseerel, I think you are confusing a few different issues here.

27515219 about 11 years ago

aseerel - "There may be reasons where mappers intentionally used the amenity=shop tag in addition to shop=blafoo. "

Personally I can see no logical reason to use both.

pyrog - Overall I welcome this update, but would advise in future to break this into smaller changesets which cover smaller areas which would allow you to get in direct contact with the local community.

Where there is resistance to doing a mass edit there are other options such as mass adding of notes to suggest local mappers make the change themselves based on local knowledge. User math1985 has done it this way with his updates to shops around the UK & Ireland
