Amateur mapper, mostly interested in improving hiking trails in and around Harford County, Maryland.

I use a Garmin GPSMAP 65s for laying down my own traces and determining location when making notes. I usually only edit areas that I have physically surveyed multiple times and use Strava Heatmap and USGS 3D Elevation Program to further guide. I generally upload combined GPS traces after I have made several passes of a particular area - can provide individual traces if anyone needs them. For tagging I generally follow guidelines set by the Trails Stewardship Initiative, unless local convention favors otherwise.
