Changeset When Comment

Hi MountSuckling,

I went to the area of the street to find that it was really there and its construction was finished, so I readded it in changeset/147290791, sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for your edit, although Lamassu has re-added the Persian name in changeset/146957111

and in the discussion he has repeatedly failed to provide on-ground evidence for those names instead only citing unofficial sources. Later, another user (ChehrehBargi) in the changeset:
changeset/147010459

also added a non-existent Turkish name and changed the Persian name to a different non-existent name, further proving that those names don't exist on the ground as they can't agree on one name.

The user behind this changeset (ChehrehBargi) is a non-local user and a known vandal by Iraqi mappers, and this changeset came along with several other politically charged changesets where some users change the names of streets in various Iraqi cities to the names of Iranian generals and other Iran-adjacent characters.

Hi MountSuckling,

Way way/1243969601 that you added is blocked from both ways by blocks and isn’t even paved (I have seen it in person) and isn’t even present in government maps, while you added it as a normal street. Edits like these do more harm than good by introducing false information into the map and confusing data clients and routers. This is not the only instance of this but overall a general trend of you and your team so please be more considerate when adding streets.

Regards, BaghdadiMapper.

Note that this is not meant to come out as a personal attack against Lamassu as he’s an active contributor in Iraq but his edit was driven by a political agenda and go against the wiki guidelines by removing the widely known name and replacing it with an obscure one.

146749283 almost 2 years ago

The user that behind changeset/146748334 (Lamassu) has completely removed the known name of the street and the ones that locals actually use and replaced it with an unknown name that was only recently approved by the government and is named after a person on the international terror list. He did this without prior discussion and then proceeded go to the OSM Telegram group and say that LockOnGuy is an American citizen and that the new name is widely used (both are dishonest untrue statements). The new name should be put into the official_name column as it’s rarely used and unknown by the locals and was only put by the PMF as a politically charged move.

What is your source for deleting oneway tags from two ways that look like they should be oneway, like the nearby ways that also have oneway tags?

No, the word "پێشانگای" isn't shared between Arabic and Kurdish, Arabs don't know it or use it and it just translates to "Exhibition" https://translate.google.com/?sl=ckb&tl=en&text=%D9%BE%DB%8E%D8%B4%D8%A7%D9%86%DA%AF%D8%A7%DB%8C&op=translate which we just use the Arabic word "معرض" for

Hi SomeoneElse_Revert,

I see that you added the Kurdish name twice in way/1025102182 and only changed the spelling of the word "كوێت" (Kuwait) to the Arabic spelling. "پێشانگای" is a Kurdish word and doesn't belong in name:ar, it should be entirely in Arabic

Hi ڕاستی,

Erbil Engineering Technical College was mapped twice, as both node/6949734186 and way/788269398 , and that goes against the wiki osm.wiki/One_feature,_one_OSM_element

>Examples of bad situations:

>An area object with a point object inside, both with the same tags representing the same real-world feature.

So I deleted the node so that only 1 element corresponds to the real world object.

Hi ڕاستی,

node/6949734186 is already mapped as way/788269398

Hi Akam Aziz,

Consider using good changeset comments to better inform other mappers of your changes instead of comments like " i edited some information ".

Hi,
What's the source for the link? I do not see it in Maxar Premium Imagery or Esri World Imagery

Apparently there is a sign at the beginning of the road that says 80, and then the road markings say 60|40|40 and signs on the right say 60, and by the end the road markings say [incomprehensible]|60|40
according to this video: https://youtu.be/dq_cEkd97qc

But the road markings might mean minimum speed, this document from 1989:
http://wiki.dorar-aliraq.net/iraqilaws/law/14679.html

the max speeds 140|110|90 correspond to this image: https://i.ibb.co/0qk62xn/image.png but the minimum speed doesn't correspond to the road markings so maybe this assumption is wrong

Hi,
Where did you get the maxspeed=80 for Zaytoon Street? According to this video: https://youtu.be/3INF5Gt_BSE the maxspeed for roads in cities is 60 km/h
