| 177654738 | Thank you for pointing me to that discussion, very interesting. However, it seems that the discussion is still ongoing. When a conclusion is drawn, yes, this route can be "nomalised".

| 176525830 | I have received an answer from Via Alpina.org. The old routes are still mostly signed, but will not be maintained. Signs will be removed in the coming months/years depending on a lot of factors. They do not recommend the old routes to stay on OSM. To avoid people to start adding the old routes again as long the signs are still up, I decided to put the Red route (superroute and not-used red stages in the new route) on disused:route=hiking. Maybe next year the old routes can be removed altogether (?). The other colored routes (red, purple, yellow, green, and blue) should also be set to disused. |

| 176525830 | Yes, at the moment I'm doing remote mapping. Thanks for your concern to keep confumsions at bay. I have reached out to via-alpina.org for clarification of the signage of the old an new trails. For now, I would like to get a baseline of the new trail in OSM. Changes to it according to signs will come when people start walking it again during the summer months. I'm just working on the route, not actual position/layout of paths or streets, so Lidar data does not seem helpful to my process, but you do you! If I receive more info from via-alpina.org I will post here. |

| 176525830 | Yes, it should have been "VA-R1".
