This is the Amiad Open Market - שוק עמיעד - a municipally regulated market where private people sell various junk and things that fell off the back of a lorry, off the ground. Visitors, especially foreign ones, often mistake it for the Jaffa Flea Market. It isn't! The Jaffa Flea Market is in all the streets to its north (including the two covered bazaars off Pinhas Ben Yair Street) and to the south-east all the way to Yehuda MiRagusa (Margoza) Street on both sides of Rabi Pinhas Street and all the way north to Beit Eshel Street. On Fridays the entire length of Pinhas Ben Yair Street all the way to Hamelekh Hiram Street, in the Greek Market under the coloured umbrellas, is an art market. Do not get stuck in the Amiad Market, many have! (Note that as of 2026, once a week the Amiad Market becomes a Farmer's Market).

The one-way direction in Ben Gamliel Street is not north-to south, as shown, but south-to-north. The direction was reversed several years ago when the Light Railway was built in Jerusalem Boulevard (see Waze).

Do not ride bikes here, walk them. It's an (illogical) municipal fine trap and the fine is expensive. מלכודת קנסות עירונית.
