📘 Biography: Amuza’s Educational Journey 🎓 Academic Background My name is Amuza, a student of Land Surveying and Geomatics, currently attached to Makerere University Online. I was admitted through the Makerere University where applicants register digitally, submit verified academic documents, and apply under recognized schemes called the district quotas scheme Government sponsorship. This process reflects my adaptability to modern learning systems and my commitment to pursuing geospatial education through accessible online platforms. 🌍 Connection to Geo YouthMappers My attachment to Makerere University Online has allowed me to engage with digital learning communities while building technical expertise in surveying and GIS. This experience aligns seamlessly with the mission of Geo YouthMappers, where open mapping and collaborative geospatial projects empower communities. Through YouthMappers, I aim to: • Apply my academic training to open mapping initiatives that support disaster preparedness, infrastructure planning, and sustainable development. • Connect local knowledge from Kawempe, Uganda with global geospatial innovation. • Inspire other young people to use mapping as a tool for community resilience and empowerment. ✨ Vision I believe that maps are more than technical outputs—they are stories of people and places. My journey, beginning with admission to Makerere University Online and extending into YouthMappers, reflects a commitment to bridging academic knowledge with practical impact. By combining geospatial skills with cultural sensitivity and community engagement, I strive to ensure that mapping contributes to Uganda’s development goals and empowers local communities.
