OSM Musical Chairs indicates that the name here is the same as the OS locator dataset (ie. Second Street West). So there does seem to be a source. [I do agree though that it looks like leakage - possibly into OS data first?]
Localy I think we call it the Basingstoke road or the A339 but what the Council actaully named I don't know.
It was a diversion built when the airbase was made along with bury's bank road as they ran to meet where the runway went during the 1930's
Diversion might make sens. I guess it's possible that when the diversion was put in the original route kept the old name, whilst the new road the other name
Second Street West is a road on the New Greenham Park. It does not refer to the A339.
