Canada Line stations too
Notes to self: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Naming_conventions_(Canadian_stations) lowercases "station" which would support "Burrard" rather than "Burrard Station". Toronto and Montreal have no "Station" in station names either. Calgary has no "Station" in its LRT names but Edmonton does. Seattle and Portland also have no "Station".
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Names seems inconclusive on whether it should include "Station". Question https://help.openstreetmap.org/questions/52852/railway-stationmetro-station-naming was specific to Hong Kong and in the end hinged more on consistency.
Maps at https://www.translink.ca/en/Schedules-and-Maps/Transit-System-Maps.aspx, e.g. http://infomaps.translink.ca/System_Maps/skytrain_bline_seabus_map.pdf don't include "Station". However, maps linked form https://www.translink.ca/en/Schedules-and-Maps/SkyTrain/SkyTrain-Station-and-Elevator-Maps.aspx do. As far as I can tell, new Translink signs at station entrances do include "Station", e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Vancouver_-_Burrard_Station_entrance_01.jpg and https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Coquitlam_Central_Station_Exterior.jpg , but not at platforms, e.g. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Coquitlam_Central_station_(SkyTrain).jpg
I'm leaning towards no "Station", so making the names like "Burrard" and "Vancouver City Centre".
The sign outside does include the word "Station": "Granville Station"
Posted to mailing list hoping to get input https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-ca/2017-November/008188.html
I have made the change: https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/54035299
This is intended to be a purposefully minimal edit. Only nodes or ways tagged as railway=station or public_transport=stop_position are renamed. No other cleanup performed, although it is often needed. In particular, railway=subway_entrance nodes were not renamed at this time, although they are not very consistent either.
Commercial–Broadway and Gilmore have platform numbers in public_transport=stop_position nodes. I have left those in for now.
Dashes and spacing in names are taken after Wikipedia.
Please feel free to discuss!
In absence of objections I will mark this note as resolved, but please reopen if needed.
