I would say not. What would be the correct alternative, secondary roads?
I think "Primary" - a distinction between trunk A routes and Primary A-routes would be that the trunk routes would have green signage.
The hierarchy is:
Motorway
Trunk
Primary
Secondary
Tertiary
Unclassified / Residential
Service
Certainly trunk is incorrect for all of these roads, there needs to be a distinction between the A1/A3 and the less important roads.
It seems they were changed in this changeset: https://overpass-api.de/achavi/?changeset=39562682 - not sure why they were changed, as their previous classifications look good to me.
Before reverting, suggest you leave a changeset comment, and/or message that user to see why they made the changes.
I've performed the changes; they extended out of town as far as the B101 to NW, now reverted to secondary road. I don't know how to leave changeset comments (or in fact contact the initial user) etc. so I've just made the changes manually as it is clear that they needed to be made.
