Ah, the iD-induced area way messup...
I reverted the original change. The artificial loop is used in bus route, though.
It seems excessive to me - what's your take?
I am not sure what you mean by iD messup?
area:highway was correct - it describes the shape of the wide road area. It doesn't mean you can drive in everywhich direction here, which is what area=yes on highway=* implies.
I was talking about the artificial bus way loop. None of these intersections exist.
area:highway should be restored (but probably with turning_circle value).
highway=turning_circle should probably be used instead of explicit loop.
